She's cool, she's confident, and she is not going to be ignored. At only 17, Billie Eilish has headlined Coachella and flooded the music scene with her unabashed prowess. Her influence has been liked to that of Nirvana (by their drummer himself, Dave Grohl.) As dancers, we have a special place in our hearts for this dynamic creator. Here are just a few reasons why we can't have enough of Billie Eilish:

Billie is a trained dancer

They say it takes one to know one! Billie began dancing in the studio in her home town of LA when she was 8. Like most of us, she trained in multiple styles, but her focus was contemporary. Billie had to quit dancing when she was 15 because of an injury. Luckily, that's when her music career began to take off.

Her first single was inspired by dance

Billie began writing songs with her brother Finneas, who still continues to write, record and perform with her. In 2015, her dance teacher asked her if they would write a song to choreograph a dance to. "Ocean Eyes" was the song that they made. After uploading it to Soundcloud, Billie began to gain likes and follows. In 2016, "Ocean Eyes" was re-recorded and released as Billie's first single.

She has a unique sense of style

Billie's look is strikingly androgynous; It's part grunge, part hip hop, part horror story- much like her music. Eilish recently appeared in a Calvin Klein ad, wherein she mentioning that she wears baggy clothes so that no one can make comments on her body or sexualize her.

She is a true artist

Billie is in the drivers seat when it comes to conceptualizing her videos, appearances and music. She creates and dictates each detail of her artistry. We are inspired by how true she is to herself and how confident she is in what she has to offer the world.

Her songs make us want to dance

Billie's music makes us want to move. It's got guts, it's got sensuality, it's got heart and it's got glory. And it's really, really, REALLY good. And that's the number one reason why we love her.
